=20 Carolyn Lavecchia is a principal in = the law=20 firm of Williamson & Lavecchia where she focuses her practice on = medical=20 malpractice as well as other types of litigation. Prior to practicing law, Ms. = Lavecchia=20 had a distinguished career as a nurse practitioner. She effectively utilized this = experience=20 to help her become a well respected leader in medical malpractice = litigation and=20 defending practitioners before professional disciplinary=20 boards.

=20 In addition to her law practice, Ms. Lavecchia devotes time to a = number=20 of bar, charitable, and civic organizations. She is a past president of the = John=20 Marshall Inns of Court = and the=20 Metropolitan Women=92s Richmond Bar Association, chair of the 2000 = Virginia Trial=20 Lawyers Association (VTLA) Convention, a member of the VTLA Community = and Civic=20 Service Committee. She = serves on=20 the Fee Dispute Resolution Committee for the Virginia State Bar. Since 1993, she has = volunteered her=20 services as a member of the Advisory Council to the Virginia Treatment = Center=20 for Children and she was the Chair of the Advisory Board from 1999 to = 2001.
